God

God is an eternal supreme being, neither male or female and is the centre of monotheism (belief in one God). God is the creator of heaven and earth, Angels, Jinns, humans and all living things. Different communities, cultures and religions has different words for God and Allah is the one used within the Quran as its the Arabic word for God.  God does not have any names, just attributes to describe God’s nature. This includes Al-Rahman, meaning “Most Compassionate” and Al-Rahim, meaning “Most Merciful”. These are the two most commonly used attributes to describe the nature of God in the Quran.

Humans have trouble understanding the concept of eternity and infinity so even though we accept the fact the we are God’s creation, it is difficult to get your head around the concept of God creating all things but God was not created as we cannot comprehend something that doesn’t have a beginning or an end.  For this reason people have tried to find an alternative explanation for the beginning of the universe and meaning of life.

Creationism V Evolution

The theory of evolution by natural selection, first formulated in Darwin’s book “On the Origin of Species” in 1859, is the process by which organisms change over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. The Theory of Evolution will never become a law of science because it is full of errors. This is why it is still called a theory, instead of a law. The process of  natural selection is not an evolutionary process.

 

The bang theory

The Big Bang theory is a cosmological model for the universe from the earliest known periods through its subsequent large-scale evolution. It does not include what caused the bang or evolution of life. Some estimates place this moment at approximately 13.8 billion years ago, which is thus considered the age of the universe. Since George Lemaître first noted, in 1927, that an expanding universe might be traced back in time to an originating single point, scientists have built on his idea of cosmic expansion. It doesn’t explain the creation of the universe. Steven Hawkins explanation was that the laws of physics was enough to cause the big bang creating something from nothing. If that was the case than why can they not replicate the big bang from everything we have at our disposal. Surely something from something is much easier to replicate than something from nothing. In fact, science has proved that the laws of physics are so precise, that for it to have just happened through chance is pretty impossible but they will keep trying to find a formula.



The relatively new theory of how the universe come about is the the theory of multiverses. This is where it is believed that there are many universes in space and time so it would not be unusual for ours to be so perfect and advanced with life forms. This theory is not accepted by all scientists and has been branded unscientific as there is no way of testing this theory.

There is no conflict between science and creationism as science frequently points to a need for a creator. There are plenty of scientists who are creationists and are just trying to understand the laws of physics to make the world a better place with scientific advances. The Quran encourages us to gain knowledge and use our intellect. People have not been able to use science to disprove the need for a creator so far and all alternative theories are just that, theories as they can not be tested.
